The Nikki The G design features the ICONIC poet Nikki Giovanni: Nikki Giovanni was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on June 7, 1943, although she grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Giovanni graduated with honors in History from Fisk University. Since 1987, she has been on the faculty at Virginia Tech, where she is a University Distinguished Professor. She was written several books of poerty, collections of essays and children's books. Giovanni is also the receipent of countless awards, including 7 NAACP Image Awards and Woman of the Year.
